Many women are adept at managing multiple tasks at the same time without even being aware that they are even doing it – organising childcare, domestic duties, care for parents and elderly relatives, work and a social life.
Keeping these plates spinning can create a lot of emotional and sometimes even physical pressure on a long-term basis. That’s not even counting the guilt women carry for not giving enough time to children/partners/friends and family as we rush from one task to the next.
On a day to day basis, it is important for women to learn the tools and techniques to keep things running but without the stress. For those women setting up and running a new business, it is even more important to take charge of time rather than letting it dictate your every move.
Time management is using the hours in your workday to your full advantage. This means optimising the amount of time in a day to be as productive as possible. Simply put, it is getting more work done, of better quality, in less time. It is coordinating your responsibilities to maximize your effectiveness and productivity. Being good at managing your time will help you avoid stress and produce high-quality work.
The key to good time management is planning and organisation, and in this module, we will take you through the steps you need to make you more productive and better organised.
This unit will help you to:
- Understand the concept of “The Spheres of Life”
- Identify where you are and where you want to be
- Move from imbalance to balance
* You will need a pen and notepad to complete the exercises.
To move forward, scroll down to move to the first section – The Spheres of Life where we will look at practical ways to help you move your spheres from where they are to where you want them to be.
